To help you start off with time management, follow these three tips:

#1 List down what you need to do the night before.

There are a lot of things you need to do every single day. If you are not going to put them on a list your mind will be filled with thoughts on what you must do and worst is, you will be doing the unimportant ones. This is where putting everything on a list takes into the picture. You will be able to think deeply what is it you need to do for the next day. Do you know that when you are sleeping your brain will do its magic working overnight on how to attack your to-do list? The next morning you will be filled with energy and finishing one task at a time.

#2 Categorize them according to priority.

Do you know that we have this common mistake of doing unimportant tasks first? This is not only unproductive but also can eat up all your energy. The next time you know it you are already exhausted to finish the most important task. You must at all cost be not majoring on minors. Or else, you will be wasting Timeyour time on tasks that do not bring in the beacon for you. Here is a tip that you can use when it comes to prioritizing. Ask yourself, if there is one task that I need to finish no matter what before I go out of town what would it be? Now that you have the answer, continue with the rest of categorizing your tasks. It also helps if you prioritize tasks according to your hourly rate. If you think that particular task bring in the cash for you, have it your number one.

#3 Focus on finishing the most important task no matter what.

This is a difficult one that is to be able to finish tasks on time. We have the tendency to get overwhelm with the most important task and we end up not finishing it. Then, we get tired and do not finish other tasks anymore. Just think of the most important task as the determining factor of which you are going to lose everything you have if left unfinished. When you have this kind of mentality you will be pressured to finish it the soonest possible. Basically, what you need to do is to give your 100% focus on that task. Finish it as if your entire life depends on it. When you do, after completion you will feel you have accomplished a huge thing. This will be your driving force to finish other tasks. It will become your momentum. The next thing you know you have already finish quite a number of tasks.

Always remember we do only have 24 hours every single day. No one is given 25 or 23 hours. Each one of us has the same number of hours. This means it is up to us on how to make use of the hours in a day to be more productive, more efficient, to reach the goals we have on a personal level. Time is one commodity that we do not have the luxury of. There will be no enough hours in the day to finish what it is you want to do for a day. Do accept that. When you do, then proceed with prioritizing tasks, finish them one by one, and if some tasks left undone carry them over or delegate them.
